New College (St. Mary’s College of Winchester in Oxford) is a college in Oxford, England, the United Kingdom.
ニュー・カレッジは、オックスフォード大学を構成するカレッジで、9番目に古いカレッジです。このゴシック様式のカレッジは、1379年に創設されました。ニュー・カレッジのフルネームは「オックスフォードのウィンチェスターの聖マリアのカレッジ」ですが、当時既に存在していた今はオリオル・カレッジとして知られる聖マリアのカレッジと区別するために、創設まもなく1386年に「ニュー・カレッジ」の名前が用いられるようになりました。
New College is a constituent college of the University of Oxford and is the 9th oldest college of the university. This Gothic college was founded in 1379. The full name of the college is St. Mary’s College of Winchester in Oxford but the name New College soon came to be used following its completion in 1386 to distinguish it from the older existing college of St. Mary (now known as Oriel College).

The College Chapel has magnificent reredos behind the altar and beautiful stained glass windows. The reredos represents the orders in the Te Deum.

The Garden Quadrangle in the eastern part of New College has a mound as formal gardens during the Tudor period. The Garden Quadrangle has a part of the Oxford city wall. The founder of the college accepted the obligation to maintain the city wall when he acquired this land. Therefore the Lord Mayor and Corporation of the City of Oxford takes a walk along the city wall every 3 years to make sure that the obligation is being fulfilled.
