コーンマーケット・ストリートは、大きな歩行者天国のショッピング街です。シップ・ストリートの角には、1386年頃に建てられた古い木骨造の家屋があります。この古い家屋は、ジーザス・カレッジに属し、1983年に調査と修復が行われました。この古い家屋の隣には、北門の聖ミカエル教会が立っています。北門の聖ミカエル教会は、オックスフォードで最も古い建物で、1000～1050年頃にサクソン様式で建てられました。北門の聖ミカエル教会は、イングランド国教会に属し、1971年より公式なオックスフォードの街の教会です。
Cornmarket Street is a major pedestrianised shopping street. There is an old timber-framed house built about 1386 at the corner of Ship Street. The old house belongs to Jesus College and was investigated and restored in 1983. Next to the old house stands St. Michael at the North Gate. The church is the oldest building in Oxford and was originally built in the Saxon style around 1000 to 1050. The church belongs to the Church of England and has been the official City Church of the city since 1971.
