Her Majesty’s Theatre is a West End theatre. The theatre was originally established in 1705 as the Queen’s Theatre. The name of the theatre changes with the sex of the monarch. The theatre first became the King’s Theatre in 1714 and then became Her Majesty’s Theatre in 1837. The theatre was His Majesty’s Theatre from 1901 to 1952 and afterwards became Her Majesty’s Theatre on the accession of Elizabeth II. The present building was constructed in 1897.
