チェスター・クロス（ザ・クロス）は、イーストゲート通り、ブリッジゲート通り、ウォーターゲート通り、ノースゲート通りが合流する交差点です。チェスター・クロスの中心は、チェスター・ハイ・クロスと呼ばれる中世の十字架です。
Chester Cross is the junction and where Eastgate Street, Bridge Street, Watergate Street and Northgate Street meet. The centrepiece of the junction is a medieval cross called Chester High Cross.

The streets leading to Chester Cross are flanked with many timber-framed houses. The buildings of the streets have the covered walkways called Chester Rows at the first floor (the upper floor). Behind the covered walkways are entrances to shops and other premises. At street level is another set of shops and other premises. The rows dating from the medieval times may have been built on top of rubble remaining from the ruins of Roman buildings. The rows are so unique and nothing the same exists anywhere else in the world.
