カンタベリー・テイルズは、ハイストリートに交差するセント・マーガレット・ストリートにあります。オーディオガイド（日本語を含む6ヶ国語）に従い、精巧な蝋人形、情景セット、光、音および匂いでシーンを再現した部屋を進んでいきながら、ジェフリー・チョーサーが14世紀に著した「カンタベリー物語」の世界を体験することができます。
The Canterbury Tales is located on St. Margaret’s Street crossing High Street. The attraction offers an experience of the story of The Canterbury Tales (written by Geoffrey Chaucer in the 14th century) by going through many rooms representing the scenes (made of elaborate wax models, sets, sights, sounds and smells) in accordance with instructions of audio guides (they have 6 languages including Japanese).
カンタベリー物語は、1170年のトーマス・ベケットの殉教の後にメジャーになったカンタベリー大聖堂への巡礼をフレームワークとし、ロンドンからカンタベリー大聖堂へ向かう様々な身分や職業の巡礼者達の一団が、道中で物語を語っていくというものです。なお、カンタベリーそのものは、直接関係ありません。
The Canterbury Tales (by Chaucer) has a framework of the journey of pilgrims to Canterbury Cathedral which became major following the 1170 martyrdom of Thomas Becket. The story describes that a party of pilgrims of various social positions and jobs walking together from London to the cathedral talk interesting tales respectively on their way. Actually the story has little connection with Canterbury itself.
