聖カタリーナ教会は、1233年に創設されたヴィスビューのフランシスコ会の女子修道会の教会でした。聖カタリーナ教会は、1235～1250年頃に建てられ、1412年までに改築されました。聖カタリーナ教会は、多くの守護聖人、すなわち、アレクサンドリアのカタリナ、マグダラのマリア、アッシジのフランチェスコ、聖王ルイ（ルイ9世）、アッシジのキアラ、大アントニオスに献堂されました。聖カタリーナ教会は宗教改革に続いて1520年代に解散し、建物は、完全に放棄される前に少しの間救貧院として用いられました。
Sankta Katarina Church (Church of St. Catherine) was a church of a Visby Franciscan convent founded in 1233. The church was built from around 1235 to 1250 and was renovated by 1412. The church had many patron saints, namely, St. Catherine of Alexandria, Mary Magdalene, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Louis (Louis IX of France), St. Clare of Assisi and Anthony the Great. The church was disbanded during the 1520s following the Reformation and the buildings were for a short while used as an almshouse before being completely abandoned.
