Spanish Bars are a prominent part of Spanish culture. It is common for a town to have many bars and even to have several lined up on the same street in Spain. Most bars have a section of the street or plaza outside with tables and chairs with parasols if the weather allows it. Some bars have mist sprinklers to cool streets and to refresh people.

Spanish bars serve a wide range of appetisers or snacks called tapas or pinchos (such as slices of black Iberian pig ham and some olives). Bars also serve drinks including Sangria which is a Spanish alcoholic beverage which consists of wine and chopped fruits. Spanish bar is essentially a meeting place for Spanish people. A bar is not necessarily a place to engage in the consumption of alcoholic beverages and so children are normally allowed into bars. In small towns bars may constitute the very center of social life. It is customary that people go to bars after social events.
