The Cat House (Kaķu nams) is a house in Riga, Latvia and is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Historic Centre of Riga.

「猫の家」は、1909年に建てられ、幾つかのアールヌーボーの要素をもった中世建築の様式を持っています。猫の家は、屋上にいる反った背中と立った尻尾の2匹の猫ちゃんの彫像で有名です。猫の家の所有者である裕福な商人は、ギルドの会員費を拒んで、近所にある大ギルド会館に猫の尻尾を向けていたそうです。しかし、後に猫は顔をギルドに向けるように命じられました。
The Cat House (Kaķu nams) was built in 1909 and is styled as medieval architecture with some elements of Art Nouveau. The building is known for the 2 cat sculptures with arched backs and raised tails on the roof. It is said that the wealthy trader who owned the building got the cats placed with their tails turned towards the Great Guild house nearby as the trader refused membership of the guild. And yet later the cats were ordered to be turned so as to face the guild house.
