The National Theatre Munich is a theatre in Munich, Germany.

The National Theatre Munich was constructed along with Max-Joseph-Platz. The theatre was constructed from 1811 and was opened in 1818. Subsequently the first theatre was destroyed by a fire in 1823 and the second theatre was reopened in 1825. Afterwards the second theatre was destroyed by an air raids in 1943 during the Second World War and the present theatre was rebuilt in 1963 in the Neoclassical style. The theatre is home of the Bavarian State Opera, Bavarian State Orchestra and the Bavarian State Ballet. The monument to Maximilian I Joseph revealed in 1835 is placed (in the centre of the square) in front of the theatre.
