St. Olaf’s Church (St. Olav’s Church) (Oleviste kirik) is a church in Tallinn, Estonia and is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Historic Centre (Old Town) of Tallinn.
聖オレフ教会は、元々、12世紀に建てられ1219年にデンマークがタリンを征服する以前の古いスカンディナヴィア人社会の中心だったと考えられています。このゴシック様式の教会は、ノルウェー王オレフ2世（聖オレフとしても知られる）に献堂されています。聖オレフ教会の塔は、1549～1625年に世界で最も高い建物であったとも言われています。聖オレフ教会の塔は10回ほど雷を受けたことがあり、聖オレフ教会全体は3回焼け落ちています。聖オレフ教会の塔は、現在、高さ123.7メートルです。聖オレフ教会は、1950年にバプテスト教会になりました。
It is believed that originally St. Olaf’s Church (St. Olav’s Church) (Oleviste kirik) was built in the 12th century and was the centre for old Scandinavian community before Denmark conquered Tallinn in 1219. This Gothic church was dedicated to King Olaf II of Norway (also known as St. Olaf). It is claimed that the tower of the church was the tallest buildings in the world from 1549 to 1625. The tower has been hit by lightning around ten times and the whole church has burned down 3 times. The tower is now 123.7 metres high. The church became a Baptist church in 1950.
