The Musées royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique (Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium) are a complex of art museums. The museum houses over 20,000 drawings, paintings and sculptures which date from the early 15th century to the present. The museum was established in 1803. The present building was one part of the extensive architectural program for Brussels by Leopold II or his legacy as the Builder-King. The building was completed in the Beaux-Arts style in 1887.
