The Hofburg is a palace in Vienna, Austria and is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Historic Centre of Vienna.
ホーフブルク宮殿は、バロック様式のかつての王宮です。ホーフブルク宮殿の場所は、1279年以来、政府の所在地です。ホーフブルク宮殿は、13世紀にオーストリア公の座として最初に建てられ、数世紀に渡って拡大しました。ホーフブルク宮殿は、1438～1583年、1612～1806年、ハプスブルク家の王であり神聖ローマ帝国の皇帝の座、その後は、1918年までオーストリア帝国皇帝の座でした。今日では、オーストリア大統領の公邸および官邸です。
The Hofburg is the former imperial palace built in the Baroque style. The area of the palace has been the seat of government since 1279. The palace was initially built as the seat of the Dukes of Austria in the 13th century and expanded over the centuries. The palace was the seat of the Habsburg kings and emperors of the Holy Roman Empire from 1438 to 1583 and from 1612 to 1806. Thereafter the palace was the seat of the Emperor of Austria until 1918. Today the palace is the official residence and workplace of the President of Austria.

St. Michael’s Wing (Michaelertrakt) faces on St. Michael’s Square. The wing was built from 1889 to 1893 and was named in reference to St. Michael’s Church on the opposite side.

The Internal Castle Square is surrounded with, the Imperial Chancellery Wing (Reichskanzleitrakt), the Amalienburg, the Leopoldine Wing and the Swiss Wing (Schweizerhof). A statue of Francis I of the Holy Roman Empire stands at the centre of the square. The Imperial Chancellery Wing houses the Silver Collection, the Sisi Museum and the Imperial Apartments. The Swiss Wing is the oldest part originating from the 13th century and houses a gothic chapel (Burgkapelle).

The Heroes Square (Heldenplatz) was built over the fortifications that were destroyed by Napoleon in 1809. The New Castle (Neue Burg) was built from 1881 to 1913 to the east of the square. The square has equestrian statues of the 2 most important Austrian field marshals. The equestrian statue of Prince Eugene of Savoy stands in front of the new castle.
