元々は、奈良博覧会が1874年（明治7年）に開催され、その後、奈良博覧会は毎年開催されました。そして、帝国奈良博物館が1895年（明治28年）に開館しました。帝国奈良博物館は、1952年（昭和27年）に奈良国立博物館に改名されました。
Originally a Nara exhibition took place in 1874. Subsequently the exhibition took place annually. Afterwards the Imperial Nara Museum was opened in 1895. The museum was renamed the Nara National Museum in 1952.
