Nara Park is a park in Nara, Japan.
奈良公園は、1880年（明治13年）に開園しました。公式な総面積は502ヘクタールです。周辺の興福寺、東大寺、春日大社も含めると総面積はおよそ660ヘクタール（東西約4キロメートル、南北約2キロメートル）に及び、通常はこの周辺社寺を含めたエリアを「奈良公園」と呼びます。
Nara Park was opened to the public in 1880. The official size is about 502 hectares. The area including the grounds of Tōdai-ji Temple, Kōfuku-ji Temple and Kasuga-taisha Grand Shrine is as large as 660 hectares (4 kilometres from east to west and 2 kilometres from north to south). The area is commonly called Nara Park.
奈良公園には、約1100頭に上る鹿が歩き回っています。言い伝えによると、春日大社の4柱の祭神の1柱である武甕槌命（建御雷神、たけみかづち）は、茨城県にある鹿島神宮から勧請され、三笠山の上に白い鹿に乗って現れたと言われています。したがって、鹿は春日大社の神使とされました。今日では、鹿は国の天然記念物に指定されています。鹿せんべいを買って鹿に与えることができます。
Over 1,100 wild sika deer freely are roaming around in Nara Park. According to local folklore, Takemikazuchi, one of the four deities of Kasuga-taisha Grand Shrine was said to have been invited from Kashima-jingū Shrine in present-day Ibaraki Prefecture and appeared on Mount Mikasa riding a white deer. Therefore the deer were considered messengers from the shrine. Today the deer are protected and designated natural treasures. Visitors can purchase crackers (Shika-senbei) to feed the deer in the park.
