The Hozu River Boat Ride goes about 16 kilometres downstream from Kameoka to Arashiyama. It usually takes 2 hours or it takes 1 hour if much water flows in the river. Usually 3 skilled boatmen maneuver a boat with poles, rudders and paddles. 4 or 5 boatmen maneuver a boat when it is windy and there is much water. The boat slips through many rocks. The boat passes a gorge offering a scenic view along the Hozu River.
